For anyone who has gotten an invite to attend Startup School, I've decided to open up a thread for people who are looking to coordinate transportation.
If you are going, please respond to this entry with WHERE you are coming from (city, state is sufficient) and HOW to get a hold of reaching you. If you want to include information on how you're getting there/back and what your housing arrangements are, that'd be fine too.
If someone finds a great deal and/or has connections for housing, we can hopefully save each other a bit of cash.
Here's mine:
I'll be coming from Washington, DC via Amtrak probably leaving Friday evening and getting in about an hour before hand. I'll be coming back late that evening via train also. Total cost appears to be just under $200.
Live in MA
I live in Western MA, about 3 hours from Cambridge -- just driving in for the day.
Toronto
I'm coming from Toronto, Canada via Greyhound or Amtrak, total cost around $200. I'm a student myself and I'm talking to friends with contacts at mit and Harvard about options for staying overnight. I hope to cut costs by staying overnight in somebody's dorm/house.
Contact info
I can be reached at designfu on gmail. I would like to arrive on the evening of the 14th, stay overnight on the 14th and 15th, and leave on the morning of the 16th.
Some Info
Not sure how much use this will be, but here's a list of their campus groups: http://www.mit.edu/life/category/lg.html
If you happen to be a member of a related organization, that might be a place to start. My fraternity is represented there, but I can't really offer their facilities to people.
Airline
Be sure to check outthe airlines -- I got a ticket from BWI for $180.
Also, check out the wiki I put up for getting people together who might want to work on a startup together.
Driving from PA
My wife and I are going to just drive up from Pittsburgh on Friday. It's a long drive but we're thinking about visting from friends in NYC on Sunday after the startup school. If someone needs a ride, you can email me at farra [at] apache [dot] org
official wiki
Here's the official wiki -- there might be more of audience there.
Ride from DC
I have a ride to share from DC to the StartupSchool.
Leaving friday morning, returning sunday.

cheap amtrak tickets
Here's a re-post from the travel wiki, but your travel plans seem very similar to ours and I wouldn't want you to miss out on the cheap tickets:
If we get a group together, Amtrak can be cheap. Two of us are taking the Amtrak; leaving Friday night, arriving Saturday morning. Each additional person is 90% off. If 6 of us go together, it comes out to about $27 per person each way. Here's a link to the deal:

If you're interested, drop me a line: web.drew@overt.org
We're thinking about leaving from BWI, but can be flexible.
