I also read this, mostly because I think so highly of Fowler. Sometimes it reads like a recipe book, but I found many of the suggestions thought provoking. In the long run I think the book has saved me time by doing things, more or less, the right way early on. It also made me a little more adventurous, feeling as though I can always change things as the need arises.
